Government waste is a constant, ubiquitous buzzword of the right, a core assumption that is so ingrained I rarely hear it questioned or even really discussed. It’s just assumed on the right and the left that the government is more wasteful than private companies, yet I wonder how exactly that’s calculated, or if it’s really true.
